We’re looking for a new Sailmaker’s Apprentice

SailmakerSolo Sails are currently looking for two enthusiastic apprentices to join our small team of friendly sail makers.

Sailmaking is a rewarding, practical job and is especially interesting for anyone who is already involved in the sport of sailing.

It’s particularly suited to people of a practical nature, who might enjoy the idea of taking a flat roll of material and turning it into a full 3D aerofoil that will power a yacht for tens of thousands of miles.

We are looking for young, enthusiastic, practical and reliable people who would be able to live locally and would enjoy learning the art of sailmaking.

Sailing experience is by no means a requirement, but could be an advantage .

The successful applicants would be expected to assemble new sails from the cut panels, operate our CNC cutting machine, learn some basic CAD and sail design software, as well as generally help maintain the loft working space.

West Cornwall is a beautiful place to live, with many local water based activities such as sailing, rowing, fishing, paddle boarding and surfing etc.

We are interviewing over the next few weeks and need to fill one of the two positions soon, so please email Andrew Wood @ info@solosails.com if you feel you might fit the bill!
