Lizzy Foreman’s new Mini Transat campaign just upped a gear last week as she officially launched her Mini campaign on the Isle of Wight with fully branded Solo Sails and hull by Grapefruit Graphics under the name of Hudson Wight, her tittle Sponsor.
After the official launch in Cowes, Lizzy set sail for Hamble in time for the start of the Solent 650 on Saturday.
It was great to see Lizzy set off in full colour on a gloriously sunny Saturday in fine conditions at her first UK race of the season, the Solent 650. The race takes the fleet from The Solent down to La Trinite on the west coast of France and counts as an official qualifier for the Mini Transat in 2015
After a clean start, the small fleet of five Mini’s free’d off down the Solent under code zero’s and out into the English channel.
Here is a great picture of Lizzy flying some of her Solo Sails. The ‘Inter’ or reef-able Solent jib acts as a cross between a Genoa at full hoist, then reefs to a non overlapping solent jib.

A shame we didn’t get to see the specially commissioned bright Yellow Solo Sails A2 for the start though!
